             As I slowly meander down the fast food-ridden avenues of my hometown, the blatant truth is evident; we are a fast food nation. The industry which started as a single spark has spread like wildfire throughout the country engulfing anything in its path. From the charred earth sprout structures supporting the golden arches, whose majestic beauty symbolize an entire industry. Behind this false front is the conspicuous truth, that fast food franchises will over run and manipulate anything and everyone for a fast buck. The industry has spawned the birth of disgustingly good corporations. Their practices were once concealed in the jugular vein which Schlosser punctured to let the bloodless reality out. Now that we have the knowledge behind the fast food industry will it stop us from eating out?
             Who would have thought that a single in genius idea would change the face of our nation forever? It started out as a simple concept in suburban California and expanded to meet the instantaneous demand. The fast food boom swept the nation in an epidemic were supply couldn't meet demand. Fast food restaurants are coming to dominate more and more sectors of American society. Even the most desolate parts of the country such as the Kansas prairie are now occupied by the golden arches. Building after building line the streets of my hometown, completely replacing the family owned businesses that ran my town for decades. New franchises move in quite frequently so they can get a piece of the pie. Fast food corporations are becoming more and more prevalent in society everyday. The industry will do nothing but flourish due to the increasing, easy means of production due to technology. Technology is the life line of the industry, it makes the process of making food easy and fast, unlike the traditional way.
