The Contributions of Med-evil Islam to Today

             Unfortunately, the so-called Islamic world, from Africa to the Far East of Asia, is backwards compared to the Western world with doubt this is a false argument for the contribution of Muslims to human civilisation is a fact of history that cannot be denied.
             It is essential to look at some of the Islamic accomplishments in religion, literature, science, architecture, mathematics and its impact on present day civilization.
             To date Islam is the largest religion in the world. In-addition to the Islamic states of the east it seems that all over the world there are Moslems and they all have the same belief. Islam's central teaching is that there is only one all-powerful, all-knowing God, and this God has created the universe. This rigorous monotheism, as well as the Islamic teaching that all Muslims are equal before God, provides the basis for a collective sense of loyalty to God that transcends class, race, nationality, and even differences in religious practice. Thus, all Muslims belong to one community, the umma, irrespective of their ethnic or national background.
             Education and literature was a very important part of the Islamic civilization. The Muslims formed the first university in the world, which is still operating today. They were also the ones who saw the importance of classical Greek and improved and preserved it. Calligraphy was one of their special strengths. A courtier at the court of Harun al-Rashid produced the Muslims invented friction "The 1001 Nights" which is the most famous book of stories in history. Poetry was also one of their accepted literary art forms. In-addition a number of Arabic words relating to the trade and commerce have found their way into modern Western languages. Muslin cotton became a favourite commodity and a new word in the Western vocabulary, as well as damask fabric and fustain cloth.
