When looking to purchasing a vehicle, it is very important to know the engine size because a bigger engine uses more gas. You should also know what kind of transition your vehicle has. An automatic transmission will average about 5-11% poorer fuel economy than a manual transmission, when used properly. The second step is filling your tank properly. When filling your vehicle you should never fill the tank to the brim. Stop when the pump clicks off. Usually, tanks have overfill tubes and when you go around a corner with an overfilled tank, some gas spills out through this tube.
             The third step to saving money is checking your tires, which you should do regularly. Under-inflated tires can shorten the life of the tire and rob you of your mileage – up to 4% for every 5 pounds it is under-inflated.
