After the story, they search long and wide until they find their family who have been tortured by the Japanese. It comes to a point where everyone does not know what to do until Aling Anna gestures to them to leave for the Japanese are retreating. They are left there while the Japanese continue to fight. They both try to head home since both stay in the home of Mama. For you cannot have both riches and purity. Since Feliciano was a Japanese sympathizer before helping Isabelle but is now fighting for the Philippines, him and Domingo go out in search for Papa, Alejandro, Taba, and Roman. Feliciano thinks of a plan to help them all escape. The rest are taken to a warehouse where they see other Filipinos who have been tortured. Then next story of Mang Minno is told who is a magical fisherman. Feliciano pretends to still be one of the Japanese, turning in Domingo who is highly wanted, but it is all part of a plan to set everyone free. This is when Domingo is able to escape from the loosely tied rope and help everyone else.
