My Grandfather

             The good old high school years, some better than others. There is always something everyone can rely on though. That is a hometown varsity, sporting event. There are so many to choose from. For instance, football, basketball, and baseball, just to name a few. Being at a home game rooting for your team is just a great place to be.
             Nothing is greater than the actual game, whatever it may be. It is surely to be exciting. With every events ups and downs many fans are at the edge of their seat or standing up with thrill. Not only getting to just see your team but a variety of good and bad opponents. Every once in a while, there could be a shockingly excellent team. It is such rush to actually win. The feeling of fulfillment engulfs the body. You see true joy after a win.
             The fans at any kind of game are so incredibly diverse. First there are your hardcore fans that go to every game, paint their bodies, and yell. They are the ones that stand out the most and get everyone excited. They are out in any weather condition. Then there are the socializers that are mostly girls. They are known to be an embarrassment to the hardcore fans. The socializers do not understand the concept of attending an athletic event and watching it. They go to talk and to be a part of the group. Next, are the parents of the athlete or fan, they would not go if their child wasn't involved. Last, the true fans come out, the old people. They say they've attended games since they were little kids. Every Friday night you can spot them at the football stadium with their hats and blankets.
             No sporting event could ever be the same without a halftime show. The whole band runs onto the field, plays the encouraging song and leaves everyone very happy.
