Values

At the beginning of the semester, two things really stuck out in my mind because I was very concerned with them. I am not sure if they qualify as values, but they are very important to me, and they affect my life daily. University education does not really connect to these two, but without being here, I would not be forced to deal with them. My first value is health. I knew that I wanted to stay healthy. Then next was time. I also knew that time management would be a key factor in my success at the university. Values are constantly being challenged, changed, improved, and in some cases, lost all together.

My health issue was probably the most important to me. I have always been a very healthy person. I love to workout and eat nutritious food. When I arrived on campus I knew that this was going to be a huge challenge. The cafeterias serve nothing that is good for you, but instead they stock the lines with fried, greasy food. The salad bar does not even have a low-fat salad dressing. To eat healthy around here, I knew I would have to eat out at a healthy restaurant or cook my own food. Those two things would also be hard due to the lack of cooking space and healthy dining.

. . .

Maybe some of the classes are not as good, but I feel that I benefited from the experience. School is going a lot better, my grades are improving, and I am less stressed all the time.

The Impact of University Seminar-Part 3

University Seminar is one of the most informational classes I have ever taken. I met a lot of new people and learned some very important information that I can use in everyday life. I know I pay more attention to class discussions when we get to input on the subject. Everyday after he has been working, you will see him just sit back and close his eyes. Jeffrey Gordon has his own opinion of an “educated person”, but I do not believe that he is completely right.

The Campus Culture Wars movie also opened my eyes to the wide range of diversity that is involved with going to college. The enthusiasm of the teachers really helped. This made me give input because my grade would reflect if I did not.

My brother Royce is a very educated individual in my eyes. I attended class everyday, I read the material everyday, my assignments were always on time, and I put a lot of thought into what I wrote and had to say.
