Friends

The sitcom, Friends, has an influential impact on today's society because it shows a positive moral side to life in an entertaining setting. This-half hour show based on the lives of six diverse people, grasps the attention of millions of viewers on a weekly basis. Throughout each episode, viewers join Rachael, Ross, Chandler, Monica, Phoebe, and Joey in their everyday lives, and watch as they discuss jobs, relationships, and any other quirky issues they may face. Though some feel the show is immoral and unsophisticated due to the fact that it contains pre-marital sex, and continuous drama, Friends is still considered as "one of the greatest shows of all time" (TV Guide). Friends is broadcasted once a week on NBC. The show is in its ninth season and has been a huge success in the eyes of critics. One point that makes this sitcom so successful is the fact that each character has a different lifestyle and uses their own individuality to create a special piece that makes Friends a whole. The chaos started in 1994. In the beginning, cast members were all single, middle aged people living together as friends. Friends uses humor in every aspect, to entertain and to enlighten. No one is prepared for all life has to offer. Fingers can not be pointed at one sitcom for the destruction of today's society. In the season premiere, Phoebe was dumbfounded and confused about the whole who proposed to whom scenario. Friends are exactly what this sitcom is based on and that is definitely shown by the compassion the characters share for one another. Through many turmoils, trials, and snares, these six friends have certainly been there for one another and this shows the importance of friendship to its viewers. Although overlooked by some, Friends is value-oriented and touches the lives of many while entertaining the viewers as well. No wonder this show is part of NBC's lineup of "Must-See TV. In a slight turn of fate, Rachael realizes that she does not love Joey enough to marry him and regrets her acceptance to his accidental proposal. The verse saying "no one told you life was going to be this way," applies to the lives of not only the cast members, but also to life in general. Although various ages watch Friends, the show mainly pertains to viewers from the mid twenties to mid thirties. oss's baby, has also recently accepted what she thought to be a proposal from friend Joey, unaware that the real question popper was supposed to be Ross. The many problems in the world today are in fact, enlightened by Friends. Problems that occur on the set portray to everyday encounters viewers of the sitcom face as well.
