Street Violence
The causes of street violence, what can be said about this reoccurring problem that is affecting the lives of Americans everyday. Gangs and organized crime figures contribute to this on going problem. Street violence is no longer a problem that goes on in just "ghetto" areas. In the last few years those involved come from white middle class neighborhoods. It has affected mainstream culture. The word "gang or dope dealer" is no longer associated with just blacks or ethnic groups. In the last five years there have been cases where gang related white males from middle class families commit violent crimes. If street violence becomes a mainstream problem there is going to be a drastic impact on society when it comes into play in middle class communities. What is interesting about street violence is, why do people take such dramatic risk for such little reward. Is the thrill of getting caught or do these people need serious help. Well in some cases the lack of education has an impact, maybe never knowing the difference between right and wrong could be the answer. If a person knows in their mind that he or she is not going to amount to anything, this might be a reason to take high risks. Drugs play a major role in violent activities
The Bloods and Crypts were recruiting member, from people who are from the middle class standpoint. Who would of thought that there would be "gang members" in the heartland?Well as we all know the bigger cities were cracking down on them so much that they moved throughout the Midwest expanding down south. This is where violence comes into play. Fighting violent crime together has been puissant. In most cases if a person is a street dealer they most likely have enemies or competition they want to get rid of. In the police point of view they start to develop the attitude that drugs and gangs will be a reoccurring battle that they can't win. If they weren't on the drugs they wouldn't make these terrible choices. There are different methods that police can do. There are some that will never see or even be aware of the sub-cultures of drugs and violent crime. Some may turn to prostitution to support her habit. Drugs and alcohol can trigger violent outbursts in someone who is already harboring feelings of rage, or who is mentally unstable. Underlying feelings can lead to violence, such as hate, rage, shame, guilt, and trying to prove something in a negative way. In the middle-class neighborhoods violence that occurs is usually domestic violence. This can only work as a long-term process. They do what ever it takes to get their drug of choice.
