             Your life could have been incredibly different if you lived somewhere else. An environment has a huge effect on people's identity. The geography in any environment gives people obstacles and opportunities that they must adapt to. This adaptation causes them to teach others their behavior. This learned behavior, passing from one person to the next, is culture. So, the environment you live in has shaped your culture. Your culture is your life. Topography is one of the main things that affect economic, political, and cultural elements in people's lives. It has greatly changed China, India, and Japan's lifestyle. These following paragraphs will explain the impact topography has given to affect these countries way of life.
             Surprisingly, factors in topography like elevation can separate a country into groups, therefore possibly causing different living behaviors. A country with different living behaviors means that the people there could have could have different sub-cultures. India has mainly been separated into two parts. The north and south part are separated by very dense hills full of forest and woodland. These Vindhya Hills are difficult to pass through, so the two parts of India cannot socialize with each other that much. Having separated groups can result in developing diverse cultures. That is why the north and south part are so different. North India has been able to maintain a strong agricultural economy due to its topography. The Ganges River flows across the country and is always flowing with water. When there is no rain, the snow in the Himalayas usually melts and flows into the river. Having an ever-flowing river is very important for farming. That is why high amounts of the population live there, in the Indo-Gangetic Plain. India has more than enough arable land for farming.
