Saving Private Ryan

This movie Saving Private Ryan is one of the best movies I have ever seen. It is the story of Captain John Miller's (Tom Hanks) journey to find Private James Francis Ryan (Matt Damon). It starts off with an older man neeling down at a grave of someone and thinking about something. Then it went to a boat of soldiers waiting to make a surprise attack (D-Day). These soldiers get off the boat most of them are shot. This was so sad for me to think of all the men and boys who were killed in this attack. They eventually get to a sea wall where more soldiers are killed. The shooting stops with a view of all the tragic happenings, the water on sea is red and there are people yelling out in agony some for medics and some for mothers. This is a tear jerking scene because it is so real, this is really what happened. Capt. Miller orders soldiers to go over the wall and attack German gun implacements, this is mostly successful because a sniper Private Jackson (Barry Pepper) shoots the German that is shooting at the allieds. When shooting he recites verses from the bible. After this the remaining troops go up the hill and finish off the German resistance.
This scene is said by D-Day survivors to be the most accurate account of this attack. After the D-Day invasion Capt. Miller is told that of four Brothers by the last name Ryan three of them were killed only one is left. That is the new mission for Capt. Miller and seven other men. The Captain's Translator was killed in the Invasion so he got a new one for this mission. Coporal Tim Upham (Jeremy Davies) is a fluent speaker of French and German, but he doesn't have any combat expierence. Corpral Upham is my favorite character in this movie because both he and I were first exposed to the real aspects of war in this movie. Others that went along on this mission were sharpshooter Private Jackson, Private Mellish (Adam Goldberg), a
