Malcolm X has been a very interesting role model and leader for many people throughout history. I would like to take a look into a couple of the reasons as to why this is so, but I would also like to touch on his evolution as a person. I feel that Malcolm made huge changes in his life; A couple of these dramatic alterations being his joining of the Nation of Islam, and his subsequent departure from the same organization. Malcolm X has had a storied past in the civil rights movement, which is no doubt due to his not so fortunate past.
             Malcolm grew up in a Omaha, Nebraska with both of his parents, although it might have seemed he was an orphan. This is most likely because his mother was busy with his eight other brothers and sisters, while his father was an avid supporter of the civil rights movement and consequently never home. His father, Earl Little, attracted major attention from members of the black legion because of his involvement in the civil rights movement. Many harassment letters/threats/etc... were made on Earl and his family, but it wasn't until his house was burned down in Lansing, Michigan that the Legion actually made good on there threats. This act most probably horrified the Littles, but the horrifying nightmare was driven home indefinitely when Earl Littles body was found lying across the towns trolley tracks. These things from Malcolms childhood had to have posed as the seeds of hatred toward the whites, which were then planted into his mind at a very early age.
             Malcolm went through the child and teenage years of his life causing little ruckus, but when he dropped out of school he feel in with the bad crowd, and caused many misdemeanors/felonys which would no doubt put him in prison. This is just what these crimes eventually did to Malcolm. Malcolm ended up in jail for an apparent burglary attempt, but Malcolm didn't think of this in a pessimistic fashion using the eight years behind bars to further ed...
