The choice of a college or university should be made wisely because it will greatly influence your future professionally and personally. It is also a good idea to visit the colleges you are interested in. There are four things you should consider when choosing a college; location, size, cost and areas of study offered. You also may want to know what fraternities and sororities are offered at the college of your choice.
             The location of the college you are considering is important. Where do you think you would be most productive at a small school or a big university? Would a college located in urban area suit you best or would a college located in a small town suit you better? A big city with a lot going on could enrich your ural experience or it could offer too many distractions. A small town could offer you peace and contentment or it's small size could drive you crazy. You may want to choose a college closer to home so you won't be to far from home. This all depends on the type of person you are.
             College size will influence what is available and what may be important to you. A large university is more apt to offer more courses of study, more colleges and schools within the university system, a wider selection of degree programs and a larger more diversified student body as well as faculty. A smaller college will most likely be more available to you, offer smaller classes and even more individual attention.
             If you already know what you want to major in you should select a college based on the areas of study it has the most renown for and is strongest in. In selecting an area of study you'll want to talk it over with you parents and guidance counselors. However, it is important to search within yourself for what you really love.
