Suicide is a huge problem among all people and all ages and races.  Suicide does not just occur.  Being suicidal starts with sever stress and pain caused by a serous life crisis.  Depression may be a side effect or a cause of it.  If you know a person that is suicidal tell a doctor or a consler immidatly before it is too late.
            
 	Here are some facts about suicide. Over 29,000 people in the United States kill themselves every year.  Accounting for 1.3% of all deaths, suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in the U.S.  Also a person dies by suicide about every 18 minutes in the U.S.  An attempt is made an estimated every minute.  There are more than 4 male suicides for every 1 female suicide.  But at least twice as many females as males attempt suicide.  Which means when a male trys he is more likely to use a more deadly way some examples a gun, hanging, or jumping off a cliff.  But when a female trys to end their life the use drug overdose or sliting wrists.  Suicide is the sixth leading cause of death among all those 5-14 years old.  
            
 Men older than 65 has the highest rate of suicides. And women 45-64 have the highest rates for women. 
            
 Being an alcoholic greatly increases the chance of suicide.  About 96% of all alcoholics who committee suicide continue their drinking up to the end of their lives.  Alcoholism is a factor in about 30% of all completed suicides.  At least 15% of people with depression complete the act of suicide but an even higher proportion will attempt it.  Over 1 in 20 Americans have a depressive disorder. But, Over 60% of all people who die by suicide suffer from major depression. If one includes alcoholics who are depressed, this number rises to over 75%.  That's my report on suicide.  If you think you have some of these sypthoms seek help.
