Inherit the Wind

Inherit the Wind is a riveting, thrilling movie with superb performances by a strong cast, and the exciting story of a young mans fight against ignorance. It is based on the monkey trial that rocked America in 1925, and revolves around the two great lawyers who argued the case for and against a science teacher accused of the crime of teaching evolution. The film hit theaters in 1960, and was written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee. It features a star-studded cast led by Spencer Tracy and Fredric March. A simple musical piece without singing would have been much better. The background music in the film grew to be very annoying towards the end, and I didn't think it went well with the movie's deep storyline. I found it very interesting that a political figure from Nebraska would head all the way down to Tennessee to take part in such an import trial. It’s a very entertaining and powerful movie, and should be watched by people of all ages. However, the film did a terrific job of outlining the basics of the historical trial, and gave me a better understanding of what it was all about. orce of their talents to their roles, and face off on the issue of evolution vs. The powerful acting is fun to watch, and much better than the performances of today's actors.

In conclusion, I think that Inherit the wind is a great film and would recommend it to anyone. I knew who William Jennings Bryan was, but I had no idea that he was the prosecuting lawyer of the Scopes Trial. Despite all of the great features of this movie, I still found parts of it that I disliked. What makes this film different from others is its incredibly well written and powerful script, and the brilliant acting and dialogue that is seen and heard throughout the movie.

Although it hit theaters 44 years ago, I still enjoyed it a lot. The film does a great job of portraying the way life was back then, and how religion played such a profound part in the lives of Americans.
