Matthew and Judaism

The Christian religion is based on the New Testament and believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Messiah. Before Jesus was sent down from heaven and born on earth, the religion of the Christians was Judaism. How can this be? Two different religions with the base in the Old Testament or the Torah but yet still with different beliefs and traditions. Who is right? The Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, or is the Jewish religion right in believing the messiah has not come yet. How did that happen? The splitting of a religion formed these two separate views. The gospel of Mathew explains a lot about Jesus' life, and many of his teachings. Jesus was conceived during a dream by Joseph and the virgin Mother Mary. Spirits had come to them in their sleep and explained to them what was going to happen and what they were to do. Both Joseph and Mary did everything that the spirits had told them to do. The birth of Jesus created a lot of commotion from people all over the world. King Herod had gotten news of the newborn king of Jews by astrologers from the East; he called together a meeting of all the chief priests and scribes of the Jews. Herod wanted to get rid of this new child because he was

Although the New Testament is only part of the Christian Bible, the Jewish religion is apparent throughout and much can be learned about this religion from reading it. He had shunned the Pharisees and Sadducees that had come to be baptized. These commandments were passed down from God and both groups try to follow them as closely as possible because they know this is what they must do to please God and his Son, whether you believe He has come or not. It is possible for a Jew to believe that the souls of the righteous dead go to a place similar to the Christian heaven, or that they are reincarnated through many lifetimes, or that they simply wait until the coming of the Messiah, when they will be resurrected. John the Baptist had claimed that baptism would clear your soul and your path to eternal life in heaven. Jesus had brought a new way of life to the once Jews. " (Matthew 23:2-3) Jesus also believes that the Pharisees ". This was still far from the end for Jesus. This could have been solely based on fright from people losing power and money. Like all Jews, the Pharisees shared the belief with Christians that there is only one God. Jesus had grown up by now and Herod was dead, before they moved back. " (Matthew 23:23) These are all very important virtues to Christians. The people in power in the Jewish religion had found away to get rid of this man that was creating a big up rise and they did it by turning his own people and followers against him.
