April12, 1982
April 12, 1982 was a very special day for me, because it was the day that I was born. Previous to engaging in this research I knew a few things about this date already. For instance, I knew that April 12 was Easter in the year of '82, but there were also plenty of things that I didn't know. In international news, a headline that hits unbelievably close to the year 2002 reads as followed, 2 ARABS ARE KILLED AS
On April 12, 1982, the unemployment level ranged from a sky-high 7. On Easter morning Pope John Paul the II reached out to the people of Falkland Islands and asked for peace. The article states that during a prayer mosque an Israeli Soldier shot praying Arabs at the Dome of the Rock. The Dome of the Rock is a highly sacred place for the Arab people, and the shooting was foreseen as great disrespect to the Arab culture and religion. Many Americans mourned their jobs that day as well, because on April 11 six new places joined the nearly full unemployment list. Sadly this article speaks of a dim future for unemployed workers who wish to fit into the work force once more. Alan Harry Goodman, the assign, moved to Israel from Baltimore, Maryland on search for religious fulfillment. Lead by an extremist Jewish Rabbi, Goodman seeked revenge for the for the replacement of the mosque on the Temple Mount with a Jewish Temple. He speaks on Easter morning about the importance of humanly love. At this point in time, the blockade had been persistent for over a month. Another national headline spoke of the British Blocade around the Falkland Islands.
