Motivated by the success of Mickey Mouse and his short cartoons, Walt Disney undertook the production of the first full-length animated film: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. "Nobody will watch a cartoon that's so long," said others (Snow White). In actuality, what was dubbed Walt Disney's folly really became his fortune. Snow White premiered on December 21, 1937, and was a financial windfall for Disney.
