Aristotle

             Poverty is the parent of revolution and crime. This is one of the most profound philosophical statements ever made. Aristotle was influenced by the short upbringing of his parents, particularly that of his father, who died when he was only ten years old. His father was a doctor. Aristotle was raised by an uncle or family friend. Aristotle learned Greek, rhetoric and poetry from his guardian. This coupled with the biological studies with his father helped to form his opinions and/or philosophy about human nature. Further educated at Plato's Academy in Athens, Aristotle firmly believed kings should be philosophers and philosophers kings. Then the king could fill his reign with good deeds, not with good works.
             Aristotle believed that every man was created fairly, and this is where today's modern belief that all men are created equal originated. He was a kind man and taught that the educated and prosperous people; such as kings should treat their servants in the same manner as they expected to be treated. Aristotle was a thinking man. As such, he was analytical. The term prescribed to his manner of thinking was "analytics". An example of his "analytics" is: 1) Every Greek is a person. 2) Every Person is mortal. 3) Every Greek is mortal. Taken one step further, this can be described as the beginning of analytical reasoning, a premise and a conclusion. Aristotle's axioms led to his theories in the sciences and mathematics.
             Thusly, if a man is poor and in need of the basics, food and shelter, he is likely to fight to get what he needs. If he is unsuccessful in this endeavor, then he may commit a crime in order to get what he needs. Logically thinking, his next step would be to steal that which he needs. Therefore, if a man is poor and cannot afford to buy food, he might be forced to steal food. The same is true of a poverty-ridden city in ancient Greece or Macedonia. The poor
