Relationships in Time of Crisis

             How their husband or wife helps the main characters when things are going wrong for them.
             In The outsider by Albert Camus and Death and the maiden by Ariel Dorfman, the mind and souls of the main characters are struggling, one for freedom and the other for peace. We will see in this essay, how both individuals are getting help from their closely related friend and husband, how do they manage to support them in some terrible ordeals. The problems associated with them are often inside them so that only their partners can feel and see through their heart. In the first part of the essay we will discuss the case of Meursault. In a second part we will take a look at the other play by Ariel Dorfman. In a third and final part, we will see the resemblance of these two different relationships.
             In The outsider, we have a typical and complicated crisis, the worse thing that could happen to a man. Meursault, the main character in the novel, is brought into court after committing a murder, he is then sentenced to jail and later to the death penalty. Marie is a girl in love with Meursault, but it's a one-way love, because he doesn't seem to love her that much, he respects and likes her, but isn't deep in love with her. Marie helps Meursault when his troubles arrive, they are not even married but she still wants to help him, and she visits him in jail once, if they had been married she would have visited him more. He says 'Marie's first and only visit'. What brings them so close is probably the love Marie has for Meursault, she cares about him, for example, the day after the funeral of Meursault's mother, Marie sees that he is wearing a black tie and she asked him why this funeral clothes? He then tell her about what happened to his mother, Marie is of course shocked, even though she didn't know his mother, she feels sorry for him. Marie shows strong sup
