High School to College
Moving from high school to college is not just a transition, but it is a lesson in life. No one can prepare for college life, even if an older sibling and/or college friends go through it before it is impossible to learn from them, you have to experience it yourself. This social life is just the start of the change. The environment is changed between your parents and your long time friends, thats tough to get used to. That class' and classroom are more difficult because more is expected. The social life changes immediately after you graduated high school. College parties are different from high school parties. The age level and maturity level is different and there
Students have to look at their relationships with their long time friends and with their parents as they move to college. New relationships are made all over the place, but the ones that have always been there, also change. Professors are not called teachers for a reason because they expect more. Long time friends can move away or even if they do not, it is hard to keep that same relationship that they had in high school because students are meeting many new people. Students are no longer able to rely on the high school teacher to bail them out with prolonging the due date or assigning extra credit. However, this is all a good thing for the college student because it is a growing experience that makes them stronger. College life is a huge experience that begins in the summer after high school graduation. Moving from a long time home to an apartment is a huge adjustment between the student and their parents. Everyone in the class, no matter what age, is considered adults. In college students are more incline to drink alcohol and have sex than students are in high school. On top of all, student's relationships change with the people closest to them. Also, life in the college classroom can be the same amount of shock. In colleges students get to meet new people and have new experiences and in high school it is the same people for four years and same experiences for those four years. It is amazing and scary because there are so many new things.
