Macbeth
MacbethIn a dead scene of Scotland three witches refer to a battle that is yet still future. Soon this becomes true though, in which Macbeth (Scottish general) is the hero. After the battle the traitor, Thane of Cawdor, is caught and sentenced. The king honors Macbeth with the title of the traitor, Macbeth doesn't know about this yet.In a deserted place after the battle the witches meet Macbeth as they planned before hand. Banquo, who is with him, addresses the witches with evil eyes. Macbeth more interested doesn't say a lot. Ready to listen the witches greet him Thane of Glamis and give the prophecies that Macbeth will be the Thane Of Cawdor and the future King. They also prophesy that Banquo will get a line of Scottish kings, although Banquo will never be king himself. They both treated these prophecies skeptically until generals came up
Macbeth feels very safe after these prophesies for obvious reasons. In the battle Macbeth is strong but not strong enough, at the end Macduff tells Macbeth that he was "untimely ripped" from his mother's womb. That night Macbeth goes into the kings chamber and stabs the king. Duncan's sons Malcolm and Dunalbain flee to England and Ireland, respectively, fearing that whoever killed Duncan desires their death as well. When Duncan's death is discovered the next morning, Macbeth kills the chamberlains and easily assumes the kingship. The man succeed to kill Banquo on his way to a royal feast, but they fail to kill his son, Fleance, who escapes into the night. Lady Macbeth in the meanwhile is gone insane and kills herself. Macbeth uses her influence on her husband to get Macbeth to kill the King that night. Nevertheless the army is still on their way as he finds out they are coming up Birnam Wood he figures half of the prophesies given by the witches are come true already. That night the ghost of Banquo visits him and he gets so scared he has to run to the witches to get another group of prophesies, the witches tells him that, he must beware of Macduff, he is incapable of being harmed by any man born of woman; and he will be safe until Birnam Wood comes to Dunsinane Castle. When Macduff hers about the horrible murder of his family his anger rises to a limit. In the mean while Prince Malcolm has succeeded in raising an army in England, and Macduff joins him as he rides to Scotland to challenge Macbeth's forces. to Macbeth and told him he was named Thane of Cadow. When he hears that Macduff has fled to England to join Malcolm, Macbeth orders that Macduff's castle be attacked and, most cruelly, that Lady Macduff and her children be murdered. Macbeth gets the shock but keeps fighting until Macduff beheads him and Malcolm becomes king of Scotland.
