The Real Truth About Plastic Money

             As I open the oversized glass door, I am engulfed with a cool gust of wind from inside, out of the blistering heat and into a comforting temperature inside the enclosed Parkway Plaza Mall, located in El, Cajon California. As I make my way into the noisy Friday afternoon crowd, I cant help but to notice "Back to School Sale" signs in store windows displaying: 20 percent off, 40 percent off, and even 50 percent off in bright eye catching colors. I ignore them, giving my best effort not to see what the sale items consisted of.
             Finally, I arrive to my destination: a clothing and appeal store by the name of Sun Diego. My good friend Nate had mentioned to me the day before, that Sun Diego was having a shoe sale and they had the shoes I've been wanting for $40.00. That was a great price, considering they normally sell for approximately $69.00. I sat down in their purple, velvet, noodle shaped couch and try on a pair of light brown, suede, DVS skate shoes. After trying on three different sizes, I comfortably settled with a size 11 pair of shoes. I make my way to the register glancing around at all the sale prices. The temptation to splurge the little cash I had was there, but still, I resisted.
             Placing my shoe selection on the counter, an attractive young lady with red, curly hair, grabs my full attention.
             "Hi, how are you today?" she prompted.
             "Fine thank you," I replied.
             As she checked to make sure both shoes were the same size, she asked me, "and how would you like to pay for this today, cash or charge?"
             "Cash," I replied. The total price with tax was just over $43.00, so I handed her all the money I had in my wallet; a $50.00 bill.
             I secured the change in my empty wallet, grabbed my bag by its plastic handle and walked out the store, feeling good.
