The American Dream

I have looked all over the internet and I have found that the American dream is the ideas of freedom, wealth, and fame. One of the biggest parts of the freedom section of the American dream is being able to voice your own opinion. I have found a great spspeech on the American dream written by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. it reads "I say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are


There is a saying that everyone has their own "15 Minutes of Fame" some people search their whole life for it, others dont even have to look, but either way it is and always will be part of the American dream. The last part of the American dream i have mentioned is fame. To close this paper i would like to add that the biggest part of the American dream is being able to make it whatever you want. This dream has been everything from big beatiful houses, to fast luxurious cars, to just having enough money to support a family one day. Here is another quote i found by Patrick Herny "Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!" I feal that this really expresses the extremly high price that our country puts on freedom, and that is why freedom is such a big part of the American dream. In my eyes this is everything from a little kid taking a nap dreaming of one day being a professional baseball player, to a student working hard on his homework to help out his grades so that oneday he can be a successful adult, to some old person spend all of thier time writing a book so that maybe on day it can be published. Its somehting you conjure up in your head and in America you have the freedom to not only dream something, but to put foward an effort to one day reach that dream. One of the other parts of the American dream that i have mentioned earlier is wealth. In my eyes that is what the American dream is.
