Abortion
As the popular saying goes, "It takes two to tango," and it is a universal truth that it takes two people, specifically, a man and a woman, to create a life. So it follows, that a decision as important as whether or not to abort this life, should be made jointly by both the man and the woman. This scenario, however, is not always the case. In fact, the vast majority of abortions are performed on the woman's decision alone. I propose that there should be equal input on the part of both the man and the woman in making a decision as important as an abortion of an unborn child. In 1973 the United States Supreme Court case Roe vs. Wade legalized abortion. Since then over 40 million abortions have been performed in the United States (abortiontv). Abortion is legal in the USA at any time throughout the entire nine months of pregnancy for any reason. That is equal to approximately one-third of the population born after 1973 (abortiontv). The abortionist injects a strong salt solution directly into the amniotic sac (fluid surrounding the baby). It takes over an hour to kill the baby. In my opinion D & E is absolutely disgusting. The question I ask is: what happens to the baby when the mother wants to abort but the father does not? Should the mother go through the pain of child bearing so the father can have a son or daughter? When roles are reversed, men, by law pay child support for unwanted children. Unfortunately another risk is being taken advantage of sexually by the abortionist while under the anesthetic. There is no anesthetic for the baby, which is truly cruel. But when a woman does not want a baby she kills it. If she becomes pregnant, with their child, it's not her lone responsibility in deciding abortion. The abortionist inserts the instrument into the uterus, seizes a leg or other part of the body and, with a twisting motion, tears it from the baby's body. Not even her partner, who wants to raise this child. The mother delivers the dead baby in a day or two (sometimes alive!) (abortiontv). 5 % of non-custodial men are not satisfied with the amount of time allotted to spend with their children (facenj). Women face injuries to the uterus, cervix, urinary tract, infection, hemorrhage, heart failure, embolism, sterilizations, ruptured intestines & bowels, coma, and even death. If a woman thinks it is in her best interest to kill her unsuspecting unborn baby, not many people can change her mind.
