The French were still divided, arguing about the best course of action. One person realized this and seized power as a Dictator. After realizing this, they removed the dictator and drafted another government. This person made the people turn against themselves, and killed lots of innocent people for trivial things. Both revolutions succeeded, but neither of them on the first try. ought to overthrow the unlimited monarchy because of years of heavy taxing and the lack of anyone trying to solve the debt problem France had. This government worked, extraordinarily well compared to many other countries governments' at the time. Americans succeeded first, probably because all of them believed in the cause, they were united. After France drafted their new government, they were happy with the results, until after time nothing got accomplished. After the British surrendered, the Americans stuck together and drafted a government. Both of them succeeded, but in very different ways. After time, they found that this new government didn't work, so they changed it. The arguing slowed things down, and in some cases made progress impossible, or close to impossible. It took France a while to realize they had gone from one form of monarchy to another, losing the ideals they had fought for.
