Many classrooms around the country students are learning more about themselves and the multiple races, ethnic groups, and cultures that make up America. A curriculum partnership is when a teacher invites the parents to participate in the development of the classroom curriculum. I think that if a teacher is going to do an anti-bias curriculum than it is vital to get the parents involved. Programs that involve parents to share their culture affect attitudes positively. I think the newsletter will be helpful for all parents and students could get involved with it too. to establish newsletters, and programs that involve parents to share their culture. For example grandmothers day teachers could have grandparents come in and share their culturally significant traditions, stores, and practices. They could put schedules of multicultural events that are coming up that are going to be in the school or community. Meetings are held to explain what anti-bias curriculum is, the need for it, and the benefits. Application I think that I could use these suggestions for my classroom to try and get the parents involved, not only on cultural but other areas as well. He has traveled extensively teaching in Alaska, Colorado, Georgia, and Oregon, as well as in Norway and England in grades K-12.
