             This article was about getting parents involved in creating anti-bias classrooms. The article states that parental involvement is very important and gives some suggestions on how to get parents involved.
             Many classrooms around the country students are learning more about themselves and the multiple races, ethnic groups, and cultures that make up America. An anti-bias curriculum in classrooms educates children to diffuse the bias. Teachers need to get parents involve because parents are the students' first teachers and parents play in important role in determining the attitudes and behaviors of their children.
             Some ways to get parents involved are a "curriculum partnership", parental committee to establish newsletters, and programs that involve parents to share their culture. A curriculum partnership is when a teacher invites the parents to participate in the development of the classroom curriculum. Meetings are held to explain what anti-bias curriculum is, the need for it, and the benefits. The meetings are held regularly and they provide further trust and stimulate open communication between teachers and parents. Teachers also gain greater insight and understanding as they allow parents to explain their cultural characteristics and beliefs.
             Parental committee can establish a newsletter to reflect culturally relevant content and comment. Parents can submit essays, poems, comments or drawings, which address
             growing awareness concerning cultural diversity and human responses to it. They could put schedules of multicultural events that are coming up that are going to be in the school or community. Programs that involve parents to share their culture affect attitudes positively. This gives a chance to celebrate their culture more than just a couple times a year.
