Getting into the Habit of Reflection

             "Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards."
             This school immerses its self in continual learning and growth experiences and considers the practice of reflection as significant to its work as the training experience. Rather then regard learning as many unrelated episodic events, student can use reflection as an opportunity for constructing meaning from their work.
             Maximum meaning from experiences requires reflection. The act of reflection, particularly with a group provides an opportunity in four areas which are:
             1. Amplifying the meaning of one's work through the insight of other;
             2. Applying meaning beyond the situation in which it was learned;
             3. Making a commitment to modifications, plans, and experimentation; and
             4. Documenting learning and providing a rich base of shared knowledge.
             Student should reflect the lives-individually and collectively, with teacher, parent, advisor, other student, or family, and to their community.
             The purpose of reflection is to get people or student to get into the habit of thinking about our society life. Once you have developed this habit, one begins to hear both the internal and external voices of reflection.
             The internal voices tell us what and how we are thinking. Most students keep this to their self by telling no one. They tend not to engaging in the "self-talk" that is necessary for hearing their inner voices. There are many way for people to develop their skill.
             The external voice of reflection is like sharing out your thought; they can express their feeling to other people. The student can demonstrate and practice effective listening skills. When they share their thought or feeling they have to be honest and they need to open their mind and just says out to the world and to let them know what on your minds.
