Is Christopher Columbus a true american hero

Christopher Columbus: The Man Behind the Myth

Christopher Columbus is a man that can be called many things. He has been called a hero, a legend or even the man who discovered America. But what I would call him would be fearless, a liar, and confused.

Christopher Columbus is a fearless man. He wanted to find another trade route to Asia, but to do so he had to cross an ocean that had never been crossed before. The danger was noticeable. There would be no recovery of the ship sank. There is no contact with Spain. They did not know if they were incredible sea creatures that could eat them and the ships. The fear of failure had to be on his mind, if he failed he would have been ran out of Spain and forever known as a failure. To take the journey and to take the

. . .
He lied to the queen and her court about how long the journey will take.

Columbus is and will always be known as a liar in my book. Columbus said he already had people for the job; in fact he did not have anyone so at the last minute he got his brothers to take the job.

Christopher Columbus is a confused man. In some ways the people in the old world was right about how he is just another explorer that got lucky. I don’t think he has too many truthful words come out of his mouth. In his description of the new land, he said many things but most was lies, like the rivers of gold was just the tallest tail that was told in the new world. Columbus will forever be known as a liar. So he let people that was less experienced do some of the leading and it caused a war with the natives. He was confused about his leadership abilities as well. He lied to a member of the queen’s court about who was going to be the royal governors. He was confused about who he was as a person. risk of being a failure, Columbus must have been a fearless man.

Columbus was not the hero that he or everyone in the modern world thinks he is. He was not sure of how to lead any of his people.
