United Nations

In January of 1945,26 nations came together during will to pledge their governments to continue fighting against the axis power. These 26 nations were called the "Untied Nations", a term coined by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The forerunner of the Untied nations was called the League of Nations. The League of Nations was established in 1919 to promote international cooperation and to achieve peace and security. The League of Nations and the untied nations were enacted to create a group of nations acting as one. In 1945, members of 50 countries met in San Francisco to draw up the United Nations charter.
