He revolutionized the world with his thinking, not just in physics, but also in philosophy, ethics, and religion. Kip Thorne, a California Institute of Technology physicist, attributes Einstein's deep insight to his "conviction that the universe loves simplicity and beauty... His willingness to be guided by this conviction, even if it meant destroying the foundations of Newtonian physics, led him, with a clarity of thought that others could not match, to his new description of space and time." In 2000, he was named Time Magazine's "Person of the Century". That alone can tell you how deeply Einstein affected the way we see our world. He altered the world's thinking so radically, that his formulas and hypotheses are held as the foundation for modern science. They would struggle through several unhappy years together before finally divorcing. The light energy was equal to the change in the mass multiplied by the square of the speed of light. He immediately recognized its importance, and began to check Einstein's prediction. Today we know this as "the special theory of relativity". Jakob began teaching him algebra, as part of a "game" they played together. He had been seeing Mileva Maric, a fellow student from FIT for a time now. His teachers disliked him because of his slow speech and questioning nature. Not one of his teachers would write a job recommendation for him, as a teacher or as a physicist. He switched schools to teach at the university in Prague, but returned back to Switzerland in 1912 when he received an offer to teach at his alma mater, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. His wife, Mileva, made it very clear that she was unhappy in Germany. It proved that light moves at a constant speed, as well as many other things. After several months of looking painstakingly through the photos, the scientists on both teams came to a conclusion: Einstein was right! The scientific genius had been right yet again. In 1894, his father's business failed, and the family decided to move to Italy.
