Uninvited Guests

             His heart was pounding. He was sure he saw the doorknob turn. Alfred Brown lay motionless in his small and uncomfortable hospital bed waiting for the doctor to come in and tell him if he was going to live or die. Alfred was forty three years old with two children a fourteen year old son name Bill and a twelve year old daughter named Jen, who were also both by his bed side waiting impatiently for the results of his tests. He also has a beautiful wife name Julie. She is also waiting in the room with the rest of the family.
             I am sure you are wondering why Alfred is in the hospital. Well it all started off on a sunny but chilly Sunday morning in November. Alfred had just woken up so he went and did his every Sunday routine of showering, brushing his teeth, and doing his stretches. Then he walked downstairs for breakfast. He was talking to his children when Bill said he could have sworn I heard some sort of a screaming noise from our basement last night but Alfred did not think much of it because there had been a wind storm that night so he just told Bill It was probably just the wind son.
             Then after breakfast he went outside and did some trimming and raking of the leaves that had fallen down that night. He was working away when Bill came out and said Dad its almost one oclock I will be late for my football game so Alfred was returning the tools to the basement and while he was down there he noticed a very unusual and offensive sort of odour but he didn't think much of it because he had to get Bill to his football game.
             While he was driving he noticed that there were holes all over the car seats and footprints all over the windshield. He was confused because the car was parked in the garage that night. Then Alfred was starting to get a little suspicous that he might have some sort of a rodent in the house so when he got home he said I will just have to put out some traps when he got home.
