The Basics of Internet Privacy

             In the next ten years basically every person in the world will have used or seen a computer. Children these days are being brought up and raised with computers whereas twenty years ago computers were just being invented. This is going to create a huge problem because the more people that use computers, the more people that will eventually learn enough about them, and a select few will use their knowledge for negative reasons. Also, more people will be accessible via the Internet due to it's growing population. Soon enough countries need to start somehow taking legal action to ensure people's privacy or else the problem will spread like the flu. People have privacy and protection virtually anywhere they in the world today. Police and national security protect everybody from everything. There's no way people can be protected 100% from the Internet. People's financial records are vulnerable as well as personal information about one's own family. This is a problem that can harm many people in their own specific weak spot.
             The Internet has brought mixed blessings to the people who use it. It is a fantastic information source but the relative lack of privacy has brought forth a major problem. One day while I was using the Internet I found a website that I wanted to order a book from. I typed in my credit card number but I never received the book. Later I got my credit card with erroneous charges. I had been taken advantage of by a scam. Anyone with even little hacking knowledge can track every move that you make while using Internet services and view private or confidential information. It is now possible for some Internet sites to actually find information such as e-mail addresses or the name of the person/people viewing the site without authorization. This problem can affect everyone who uses any Internet services and ultimately can lead to very confidential information (such as credit card numbers) getting into the hands of criminals. ...
