1. Winston Smith is part of the outer party working in the records department of the Ministry of Truth. He rewrites documents and alters news articles. Winston doesn't like Big Brother because after the "Hate" film he went home and continuously wrote, "I HATE BIG BROTHER" in his diary. However he doesn't dare to express it openly.
             2. The "Two Minute Hate" is a film that repeats each day to encourage people to think positively of killing.
             3. Emmanuel Goldstein is a man who followed his own beliefs and betrayed his party and joined with Eurasia to overthrow Oceania. He also wrote "the book" which attracted many haters. Basically he was an enemy a traitor.
             4. O'Brien is a high official in the Party and Winston believes both O'Brien and himself have the same dislikes towards the party. Winston thinks that he and O'Brien have a lot of similarities and he looks up to him. In a way Winston sees him as a role model.
             5. Vaporized is referring to people who have been executed by the party and everything about that person's history records is erase, like they never existed.
             6. Life in Oceania in 1984 was dreadful, you're constantly being watched by the government and many privileges were forbidden. The housing, food, and everything that's needed in a living home were all in extremely cheap and horrible to use. The government is so controlling you had no way of making your own decisions, regular people were basically robots following to every command.
             7. Spies are the killers. Big brother recruits young children because the government knows that if a child if born and raised under there watch they'll never betray the party and obey ever command. They'll listen to everything the party tell them to do because they were raised knowing nothing but the party itself and not obeying them is impossible.
