Living at Home
Advantages and Disadvantages of living with your parentsWhat would it be like if you were completely on your own and not having to depend on your parents? That is the question that I ask myself everyday. Since I am living with my parents, I am given many privileges that could not be attained if I was living on my own. However, these privileges come with penalties. I must continue to ask myself the question "Is it worth it?" Even though living at home can be frustrating and unreasonable, it can also be beneficial and favorable. While living at home, there is an overabundance of food available to eat whenever my body desires it. Since I eat so much food, I would be unable to afford my appetite. On top of the four complete meals that I eat everyday, my parents pay for the protein supplements that cost over a hundred dollars a month. I am also fortunate enough to have a mother who makes me a lunch everyday I go to school. Given that I am too laz
However, it would be nice to make my own decisions and make my own mistakes sometimes even though all they are doing is showing that they care about me. Without having to pay rent, I am able to spend my money on dates, car accessories, entertainment, and vacation trips. Until the disadvantages outweigh the advantages, it looks like home is as sweet as it sounds. Unfortunately because my parents are concerned with what I am doing and whom I am with, I rarely get the opportunity to make any mischief. Having a curfew is probably the biggest disadvantage of living at home. My parents sometimes allow me to stay out past curfew, but only on special occasions. Whenever I leave my home, my parents must know where I am going and whom I will be with. They trust that I will make good judgment on what is right and wrong to do. It's a time to become completely responsible and dependable only on yourself. Some apartments cost up to twelve hundred dollars a month, which is eight hundred more than I'm willing to pay. Starving your body is not a smart thing to do and in my case must be avoided even if it means I have to live with my parents. However, living at home has its disadvantages as well. Because I have a curfew, I have to leave parties and clubs early enough to get home before curfew. Not having a curfew is going to be one thing that I am looking forward to having when I eventually do move out. y to make my own lunch for school, I would be short a very important meal on a daily basis.
