The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
In society many people are portrayed as pure and innocent, however in reality not everyone is pure, as they seem. In the play "Macbeth" by William Shakespeare; it presents the primary character Macbeth represents an innocent human being, but reality proves that he is a cruel evil man. The semblance of Inverness Castle looks harmless and innocent on the outside but when you peer inside the illusion, you come to realize the unholy acts of the murder. Macbeth's wife, Lady Macbeth appears to show her innocent self, but also wants to achieve her ambitions and constructs the plans of murder. As a result, Macbeth is lured to murder the king, Duncan, by the desire for power, an appetite whetted by the witch's prophecies and his wife's encouragement and consequenly causes him to live with guilt and discomfort for the rest of his life. The innocence of Macbeth is shown clearly to the people of Scotland. The first illusion in Macbeth's cruel massacre occurs to Duncan, the king of Cawdor, the greed of ambition overpowered him by using a "false face" (I, vii, 94) and using a false heart to hide from his sin. In order to appear innocent Macbeth's uses his false face to fool and deceive the people of Cawdor, getting them to believe that he ha
The drunken porter is the keeper to hells gate, which hell is the evil in the castle. Her false impression on the people of Cawdor is very deceptive in proving innocence. Reality is that the castle is full of illusion and "dashed the brains out, had I so sworn. Murder inside of the Inverness Castle is associated with the illusion of innocence that it portrays from the outside. The immoral sense of innocence has now floated to the top and Lady Macbeth, strives to be beneficial to helping society again. Lady Macbeth's construction of murder, to gain power for Macbeth shatters her portal of innocence. Finally the people of Scotland conceive Macbeth's illusion and determine that he has a cruel and evil intent caused by his ambition to be king of Scotland, he even goes to the extent in Macduff's "Castle is surprised, your wife and babes savagely slaughtered" (IV, iii, 236-237) while Macduff was gone. Lady Macbeth says to Macbeth "look like an innocent flower, but be the serpent under't. " (I, iv, 73) The serpent is a sneaky symbol of the evil, within Lady Macbeth. The innocence of the castle is viewed as a pleasant place on the outside, but there are violent murders going on inside the castle. Nevertheless, once you go up, you must come down and for Macbeth his good conscious always caused him discomfort and worry, eventually dying. The illusion becomes reality after the murder of Banquo is committed, the castle does not look so innocent anymore. " (I, vii, 64)The plans for murder, against Banquo are becoming reality. However, in order to reach this goal, Macbeth had to overcome his obstacles King Duncan and Banquo and turn to evil and murder. The problem that Macbeth now faces is the prophecy that banquo's son will be come the new king.
