Evaluating
A problem that I have identified is male drivers are prone to be more aggressive on the road while driving. Many insurance companies and other resources have proven that male drivers are more aggressive drivers. For example, numerous auto insurance companies automatically give a higher rate to a male driver rather than a female. Police videos have shown countless male drivers driving recklessly through stop signs, intersections, and highways, etc... For this particular essay I've chosen to evaluate an intersection with two stop signs and a through street. Before my evaluation I made a claim that more male dri
For some time, there have been ongoing debates about who is the safer driver, the man or woman. This project set out to determine an answer to this paradox through observing males and females in their natural settings, unaware that they are being documented. The codes for the evaluated drivers went as followed; 1 for a complete stop, 2 for a near stop, 3 for slowing down for the sign, and a 4 for a driver who continues through the intersection at a normal speed. Here are my results:DRIVER'S SEX CLASS 1 CLASS 2 CLASS 3 CLASS 4FEMALE 10(59%) 7(54%) 4(40%) 0(0%)MALE 7(41%) 6(46%) 6(60%) 3(100%)TOTAL 17 13 10 3 My hypothesis stating that male drivers were less likely to stop a t a stop sign turned out to be true. Not to say that female drivers are never aggressive, because they sometimes are. In the subject of aggressive driving, males out number females. Although my results could have been proven wrong due to many other factors such as timing, location, and passengers etc. I myself admit to being an aggressive driver. I was fairly certain that my claim would not be proven wrong because of previous existing statistics stating male drivers as the more reckless driver on the road. I created specific codes and procedures to prepare my data. Stopping at a stop sign was a good example of proving safe driving habits. Therefore male drivers are the more aggressive drivers. I am still sure my claim would still prove males to be the more aggressive driver.
