All My Sons

A leading American playwright, Arthur Miller, was born in New York City on Oct. 17, 1915, has enriched the Broadway stage for several decades. He worked hard to earn the money to enter the university of Michigan, where began to write all his dramas. Several of his dramatic efforts were rewarded with prizes. Although Miller's dramas take place in familial settings, he has made a reputation for dealing with contemporary political and moral issues. After he finished school, he work to earn money so he could study economics and history

The great depression might have influence in his story in 1929 that took part while he was 14 years old. From there on he lived a financial problematic life with his parents. With his first successes like All My Sons in 1947 (film 1948) (winner of the Drama Critics Circle Award), and Death of a Salesman in 1949 (film 1952) (winner of both the Drama Critics Circle Award and the Pulitzer Prize), Miller condemned the American ideal of prosperity on the grounds that few can pursue it without making dangerous moral compromises. Larry could not bear to live anymore because he could stand that his father doing business was killing people. The big problem is to find this balance. The Author uses the most common people as characters, with all their problems and selfishness. Normal people are a mixture of qualities and defects. In your opinion, is Keller really a villain?

In my opinion Keller is not really a villain. Bridge (1955), The Fall (1964), which includes a thinly disguised portrayal of Miller's unhappy marriage to film actress Marilyn Monroe and his novel Focus (1945) is an ironic tale of anti-Semitism. In what way can the play be compared to a Greek tragedy?

The play All my Sons is compared to the Greek tragedy because it all happen in the same place, time and plot.
