A Divorce: What About the Children?
Today we face a whole new era concerning the collapse of marriages and families. It is now estimated that one in two marriages will end in divorce. Lately, many consequences are being exposed because of numerous self-centered actions. It is unfortunate that it is not uncommon to hear about it anymore. Especially considering that it causes many problems for countless adolescents and children who are growing up. This epidemic has revolutionized our world in ways that have, regrettably, made people to disregard their responsibilities. This plague that I speak of is divorce. One out of two marriages is expected to end in divorce. Divorce is truly no longer considered as a last resort in America anymore; now it is more like a simple way out of accountability. The sad thing about divorce now, is that it takes an even larger toll on the children than it does on the divorcees. Divorces are overall not healthy to the younger generation.First off, I feel that divorcing parents should first understand the consequences that the divorce may have on themselves and their children. The high divorce rates in America indicate that there are many various structural factors are affecting the relationships of man . . .
Divorce is a very big issue in the topics of today. Ten percent said it was the main cause of divorce. No mater how rich or poor a person is, one constant subject of marital disagreements leading to divorce is money. The vast majority of couples who split cite money as the main or primary factor. Those who get married at age 20 or younger are the greatest age risk, with the numbers leveling off in the mid-twenties. It is said that the number one cause of divorce is financial problems. Yet, they do say that many marriages should be saved if possible. What can be done to prevent the apathy of parents towards their children? Maybe if people would start dating more responsibly, then maybe these atrocities would not occur so often. From 1950 to 1980 there has been a total of 175 percent increase in divorces. The statistics now indicate, that half of all children will witness the breakup of a parent’s marriage, of these close to half of them will go on to see the break up of a parents second marriage, that's indicating a 25 percent increase each year! The latest figures released show that all in all, between 1970 and 1996 the number of divorced people has more than quadrupled. I know of many people whose families have gone through divorces. However, money can cause some serious problems in a relationship. A year later she comes back demanding the child she had abandoned and they inevitably go to court over him.
