People like Abraham Lincoln fought for the black man’s right to vote. Today their efforts can be seen, now everyone has that enduring right to choose. In 1920, the 19th amendment to the Constitution was made, that gave every woman the right to vote. Finally, it seemed, everyone could decide for himself or herself because they were given the privilege of voting. Amazingly, some do not take this gift. They choose not to make their voice heard.

A good example of the power of voting is the commercials shown representing various political figures. Many countries don’t have that chance, they don’t have the right to choose. The alarming fact is that perhaps the local elections bear more weight, they directly influence you in a very real way.
Some people claim that it just takes too much time to vote. By simply voting yourself, you encourage others to vote the same way. Your vote can really make a difference in your everyday life. 5% turnout rate in the presidential elections, and only 50% vote in local elections. Anyone has the opportunity to be an example to others, this is a great way to show that you care for our country and want to help make the right choices. to voting, stating reasons like ‘my voice doesn’t really count. We have been blessed with this freedom, we should use it with discretion and always remember that our ability to make our voice heard didn’t come for free. One person won’t vote, then their friends don’t see the point in voting, and their friends don’t want to vote, and so on. They affect your city, your neighborhood, and your pocketbook.
