A Narrative paper

             The world was shattered by the cowardly attack on the United States on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. On this dreadful day, thousands of lives were taken. During this period of bombing against the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, there was a response of anger, fear, and pain. This was an attack against innocent men, women, children, and people of different races, beliefs, and religions. It was not simply an attack against America but an attack against civilized society. These terrorists attempted to destroy the symbols of America; the nations economic and military power. Terrorists tried to strike fear into the heart of America and its people; however, the attacks made the American people come together as a whole nation. Furthermore, these attacks on America made the whole world come together as one.
             I was in class when the bombing happened, and the commotion outside my classroom was intense.
             I could hear people saying, " I need to call my Grandma."
             I thought somebody had died or that something was happening in the campus. When our class was over, I went to see my professor and asked him what was going on.
             "We are being bombed," he replied.
             He told me to find a television and watch it, so I did. There it was, the repetitive display of the airplane crashing into the Twin Towers, the screaming, the rushing, and the chaos. It made my heart beat rapidly and my knees trembled, for my fears came back. Chaos always brings the fear back.
             The first time I feared was on July 15, 1992 in Olongapo City, Philippines, when Mt Pinatubo erupted. It was 9:00 in the morning, and my Aunt asked me to go to the store to get some groceries. On that morning, it was raining heavily, and the city appeared as though it was midnight. It was completely dark because the power had been shut down all over the city, and the clouds turned very dark. The ground started shaking, and lightning was striking ever...
