Macbeth essay

Shakespeare's Macbeth it showed how noble and kind man was corrupted by greed and power. This was pretty much the morale of the whole play. The play was used as a demonstration of how good people can be corrupted by power. It is shown that it's just human nature to want more power. The play started off as Macbeth being a great and noble man. He started off as a war hero and the Thane of Glamis. During the war everybody respected Macbeth because he was a good man. It could be seen when everybody elects Macbeth to be the Thane of Cawdor. Another good example of how he was a good man was how he had such a good friend like Banquo that would've given his life for Macbeth. These scenes showed how he was a good man but then the witches told him about his future. The witches told Macbeth that he was the Thane of Glamis soon to become the Thane of Cawdor. After he was Thane of Cawdor the witches saw that he would become king and that Banquo and his children will

Lady Macbeth then eventually pushes him to the side of evil and insults Macbeth into killing the king. The next part to Macbeth's corruption is that he kills Macduff's family because of the second prophecy. As Macbeth hears of this he thinks about but not too seriously because he does want to be king but it's a little unbelievable. He is thinking of being king so much that he would do almost anything to get it. From the good and noble war hero into an evil man who would do anything for power and to keep it. They also tell Macbeth to beware of Macduff. This is where he fights killing the king. Macbeth is struggling with himself because he is a good man but is being corrupted with the want of power. At this point he has stepped to the point of no return. The corruption in this act is because he wants to stay in power and must kill Banquo. It shows how much Macbeth has changed from the beginning of the story from a good and noble man. The conclusion is that it's just human nature to want power. This is how Macbeth has been corrupted by power.
