MISFITs in society

You All are Laughing at me Because I am Different, I'm Laughing at You Because You're different Too..I grew up in a wild hood, as a hazardous youthwith a f***ed up childhood, that I used as an excuse... -"Cleain Out my Closet" by Eminem in Society has a certain standard that people follow to be called normal, but when a person doesn't follow those standards they are classified as a misfit. With these standards to follow society has become bias towards people who doesn't abide by them and develop absurd remarks. According to Webster's Seventh New Collegiate Dictionary: misfit is one person that is unable to adjust to one's environment or circumstances or its considered to be disturbingly different from others. We view misfits as the "weird person" in our society, but I believe that society fails to recognize that they are responsible for the shaping these people into who they are. A misfit's behavior can be deciphered through their parents' influence, but society fails to recognize that. Parents are a major influence in our lives which is one of the factors that determines who we are and how we act. the people in this building and on the street. Lorraine was an average women who was trying to live a normal life with her friend Theresa and society at first viewed them as "nice girls" until Sophie, the neighborhood's so called watcher found out their hidden truth of their sexual orientation, because of the unveiling of the truth of Theresa and Lorraine society's attitude change toward them: ". Take a second to listen for who you think this record is dissingBut put yourself in my position, just try to invisionWitnessing your mama popping prescription pills in the kitchen. According to Brooks Brown, a close friend to the Columbine suspects, in his book "No Easy Answers: The Truth Behind Death at Columbine," the massacre was a result of the long term abuse: "People only know the top skin of Columbine, the top little part, the parts the media reported so much. have you notice that people aren't nice as they used to be?. " Forced to live in isolation in a room she hates and her husband treating her like a little child, the narrator displays the affects of society's treatment to misfits; isolation and emotional abuse. Lorraine experienced a similar situation like Emily, but she was accepted by society from the beginning. For example, Emily was classified as a misfit in her society because she chose to live an isolated lifestyle, a lifestyle her society viewed as abnormal: "After her father's death she went out very little; after her sweetheart went away, people hardly saw her at all" (Faulkner 350). The narrator of "The Yellow Wallpaper" and the two suspects of the Columbine High School shooting are reminders of the long term abuse how society classifies and patronize those who they feel are different which ultimately causes adverse effects.
