If you want it you can find it in New York City from the hustle and bustle of Time Square to the serenity of a quiet park bench in Central Park you can do anything you want to in New York. Within walking distance, you can find a zoo, an aquarium, numerous museums, the fashion district, United Nations Complex, the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, China Town, Little Italy, the Yankees, and the Mets, and we can't forget some of the best restaurants in the world.
I remember the first time I was forced to go to New York. My boss called me in to his office and informed me that we just signed Columbia University to an agreement. Part of the new contract required my company to send a representative to assist them with registration. I had only a few weeks to prepare for the trip and I had reservations about it. I had never wanted to visit New York, but now, not only did I have to go but I had to go alone. I never dreamed this would be my first of six trips over the next two years.
Flying out on that first trip, I never thought I would fall in love with this city. I remember thinking that I would just get myself to the hotel make sure the door was locked, order room service and only leave when I had to go to the collage. My first real New York experience started with the plane landing at LaGuardia Airport. I had to grab a taxi and the taxi driver asked if I had ever been to New York before I told him "no". He started pointing out landmarks for me. Street after street he kept pointing thing out for me by the time we got to Central Park I was in love. I was going to take full advantage of the opportunity to be here in this city. I am going to point out a few of my favorite and most famous landmarks but there are many other well known and not so well known points of interest which are also worth the trip to see.
Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. They must be seen to be truly appreciated
