Hound of the Baskervilles Movie vs book

In my Language Arts class at Thomas Harrison Middle School, we have been reading the famous Sherlock Holmes novel, Hound of the Baskersvilles. Shortly after we had finished reading the book, we watched the movie based on the book. This gave us a chance to record some similarities and differences between the two. Listed below are a few of those comparisons.
In the beginning of the book and likewise in the movie, Holmes and Watson inspect a walking stick. Then Mrs. Berrymore confesses that the escaped convict is her brother Sheldon, in the same way she did in both the movie and the book. Finally, Stapleton was announced dead in the Grimpin Myer, as he was in both versions of the story. These are only a few comparisons I recorded in my research.
The book and the movie have many similarities, but there are also differences. In the book, a telegram was sent to Berrymore. But, in the movie no message was sent. In the book, Watson travels to the gravesite alone. However, in the movie he takes Dr. Mortimer with him. Then, in the movie, both Watson and Holmes travel to visit Laura Lyons in search of clues, whereas in the book, Watson questions Mrs. Lyons alone.
In conclusion, the film version of Hound of the Baskervilles was very similar to the book, but there were some differences. However, the parts of the movie that differed from the book did not make any significant changes to the story told by the author of the book.
