I have traveled to both Spain, and Austria. While both are unmistakably different in both culture, and government, they are not so unalike that we couldn’t compare the two. Spain is very culturally rich in its diverse cities, the olive growing provinces, and the wine growing communities. A road trip anywhere in the country would be a beautiful drive with the grape vines, and the olive trees dotting the never-ending mountains. There are charming towns and villages every so often where one can find a bit of history in modern day life. Austria is also very beautiful with a lot of the towns nestled in the foothills, or in the mountains of the Alps. It is a very culturally rich country with some of the best bread and wine to rival even Spain. The tourist can take a train ride and view the beautiful mountains, lush vegetation, and the very Austrian homes along the way. There are some of the most beautiful castles, and monasteries in the world. They are both very beautiful, and culturally rich countries that both value their way of life, and their influence in the rest of the world. Both countries have had a major influence in Europe in one way or another.

They were the ruling family of Austria for about 650 years. This discovery started off the age of exploration according to the World Book Encyclopedia 2000. The Moors controlled Spain until the early 1000’s when the country was divided into different states, and cities. This lead to a separation between the Carlists, who wanted Don Carlos to be king, and those who supported the Queen. This led to the War of the Spanish Succession where Austria won Belgium and Spain’s Italian lands. So to try to stop the war, King Charles II of Spain named Philip of Anjou as heir to the Spanish throne. There are 19 different regions that make up the country. The government is a federal republic, with the capital in Vienna. He was the grandson of King Louis XIV, and was the first in the line of Bourbon family rulers in Spain.
In 1588 King Philip tried to get Spain back on the right track by invading England with the Spanish Armada, but they were no match for the English Navy. In 1914 Gavrilo Princip, a Serbian, killed Archduke Francis Ferdinand.
During this was the Cortes drew up a constitution for Spain. Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia. I really enjoyed the culture of both countries, but the fashion is much better in Spain.
