A Loving Bond-Joy luck club

             The conflict in The Joy Luck Club, the mother and the daughters had problems adapting to each other. The novel, The Joy Luck Club written by Amy Tan which was later adapted to a screenplay and became a full length feature film was a dramatic, emotionally charged story dealing with the trial and tribulations of four Chinese women who have become close friends over the course of their lives. The story, at one point, focuses on their adolescent lives which were anything but pleasant as they grew and matured in their homeland of China. The author individually depicts the hardships each woman has to endure in her teenage years with a believable, heartfelt sense of realism, which at times can be even a slight bit graphic. The story then progresses to their four daughters and the life altering experiences they have gone through in America. The movie displays in great detail how the four mothers desperately struggle to overcome their adversity which then later affects their daughters' lives in their childhood as well as in their social lives. However, they do persevere in spite of their mothers' misunderstood and complicated attitudes toward them, in turn, making the bond within their relationships stronger in the end.
             The epic struggles and obstacles that each one of those women were confronted with in China would have ended the lives of many in a gruesome worthless suicide. The author depicts the agony and disparity which the characters are going through in such a way that one, at times, becomes entirely engulfed by the plot and the story line. In a certain aspect one can sometimes even feel a direct connection with the character. A particular instance is when June's mother was left with the horrible ultimatum oh having to leave her twin girls on the side of a barren deserted road.
