A Loving Bond-Joy luck club
The conflict in The Joy Luck Club, the mother and the daughters had problems adapting to each other. The novel, The Joy Luck Club written by Amy Tan which was later adapted to a screenplay and became a full length feature film was a dramatic, emotionally charged story dealing with the trial and tribulations of four Chinese women who have become close friends over the course of their lives. The story, at one point, focuses on their adolescent lives which were anything but pleasant as they grew and matured in their homeland of China. The author individually depicts the hardships each woman has to endure in her teenage years with a believable, heartfelt sense of realism, which at times can be even a slight bit graphic. The story then progresses to their four daughters and the life altering experiences they have gone through in America. The movie displays in great detail how the four mothers desperately struggle to overcome their adversity which then later affects their daughters' lives in their childhood as well as in their social lives. However, they do persevere in spite of their mothers' misunderstood and complicated attitudes toward them, in turn, making the bond within their relationships stronger in the end.
Their daughters are greatly affected by their mother's behavior which is apparent in their childhood as well as when they have matured into adults. Furthermore, when the story is observed and scrutinized what it breaks itself down to is that it is simply about undeniable relentless courage and unfaltering loyalty that these women possess for each other. Then June's mother made her take piano lessons, thinking that she was a child prodigy just like Waverly, but her mother did this because it would benefit her for the rest of her life. Once someone is confronted with such a horrific and tragic experience he or she will change either for the better or for the worse as a result of it. The author depicts the agony and disparity which the characters are going through in such a way that one, at times, becomes entirely engulfed by the plot and the story line. The long term consequences were then later realized when Waverly was a child her mother unknowingly used her as a prized show piece which made Waverly extremely angry and frustrated. es and obstacles that each one of those women were confronted with in China would have ended the lives of many in a gruesome worthless suicide. It was theses crucial moments in their lives that their mothers became their daughter's salvation to be present and at their sides when they needed them in their darkest hour. Many expectations were place upon her without any consent of hers whatsoever. Lindo wanted the whole world to know how wonderful Waverly was because she didn't want the same thing that happened to her to repeat itself on Waverly. Junes's mother felt that since she had failed as a mother to her first babies she had failed as a person. The women, being the mothers that they are, raise their daughters with these beliefs in mind. A particular instance is when June's mother was left with the horrible ultimatum oh having to leave her twin girls on the side of a barren deserted road. The hand was reached out to them and in the end the graciously and lovingly took it. The American born daughter came to think one day that she wasn't good enough for her husband anymore.
