Does this make me look fat?

             Obesity throughout our nation is growing at an alarmingly high rate
             and now more than ever are we starting to see the devastating effects that our diets are causing on our health. Eric Schlosser credits most of our major health related issues to the extraordinary amount of fast food we intake. One of the major goals of his book is to educate the millions about how unhealthy eating fast food on a regular basis is. Granted the fast food industry is not entirely to blame for America's obesity problem, but I do feel that they should take partial credit for our nations obesity problem. In my opinion Americans make their own educated choices on a daily basis and one of those choices is what to eat.
             Over the years as new breakthroughs in medical research and analysis are done more and more information about our health as a nation is being discovered. As we learn that information we also learn that eating a diet with a content full of fat and cholesterol is a major influence on our general health. With that knowledge in mind I can say that Americans make educated choices on what they consume all the while knowing that eating out at a fast food restaurant could potentially be putting themselves at a greater risk for high cholesterol, heart disease and obesity.
             While the national percentage rate is on the rise due to major health related complications of our diets, we all make the conscious decision about what we put into our bodies. I can reiterate the fact that while Schlosser feels it is entirely the fault of the fast food industry, I believe the fault lies between the two individuals; The average American and the fast food chain. Americans know how unhealthy eating out is, yet they don't to give up their unhealthy lifestyles. I believe in order to correct our plummeting health without having to "sacrifice" our habit's of eating out, a happy medium must be achieve
