Compare and contrast Malcolm X and Ben Franklin

             There are many outstanding leaders in our world's great history, and it's because of them that civilization is where it is today. Benjamin Franklin and Malcolm X are two, among this elite group, who have molded this nation with nothing more than a will to learn and a need to help us better ourselves as a whole. What can one achieve if they put their heart, soul, and mind into something? These two men will show you that doors will swing ajar if you only have an open mind.
             Who would have thought that on January 17, 1706, in Boston Massachusetts one of the single most influential people in American history would be born? From a young age Ben was very fond of reading, which is good because it would take up the better part of his life. Ben would read day and night from books either his father had, or he borrowed from the local store. Working for his brother, James, at the printing shop gave him plenty of time to develop his love for learning. Though Ben could spell and get his point across he lacked an "elegance of expression," so he sat down with a Spector and began to try and imitate it. Eventually not only would Ben get to compose an occasional ballad, he would also own his own printing shop in Philadelphia and begin print of the Philadelphia Gazette. From there Ben went on to open the first circulating library, a fire house, a post office, negotiate treaties with both Great Britain and Prussia, and discover how electricity works. Benjamin Franklin died in Philadelphia April 17, 1790, at the old age of 84 one of the most multi-talented and influential human beings to have ever lived.
             Born a black man in Omaha on May 19, 1925, one could believe young Malcolm Little was in for a hard life. Malcolm's father was taken from him at an early age when murdered on some streetcar tracks. This event sent Malcolm down the path he would be on for most of his young life. Crime surrounded Malco
