Pete Rose

How do you allow the all-time hit leader, games played leader, and a multiple most valuable player to be banned from baseball for life? Maybe if this person bet on the game for which he gave his all. This is what happened to Pete Rose. Although Rose set and still holds many major league baseball records, the league has refused to lift its ban to allow one of the greatest players in its history to be elected into the Hall of Fame. Although this man did so much good for the league, how can he be acknowledged as one of the best to ever play if nobody knows if he played with the baseball's best intentions. Many people believe Pete Rose should be eligible for the Hall of Fame because he was one of the most prolific batters in the history of the league. Just because he placed bets on baseball, doesn't qualify him as a cheat they say. There is no evidence that he ever bet for or against his team. Some feel that a player should be elected into the Hall because of his accomplishments, not his faults. These people have a valid point. Rose is the all-time hit leade

If there were any proof that Rose "threw" the games he played in, then there would be some validity to this terrible ruling. How can baseball continue to shun one of its greatest contributors?Because the league feels that he disgraced the league? Please. In the big leagues, hustle usually means being in the right place at the right time. Should these accomplishments out way the illegal actions he performed? Should he not be in the Hall of Fame? Yes. Who can? I make up for it in other ways - by putting out a little bit more. He has been quoted saying," People say I don't have great tools. Not only was he a great player, he was also very humble. All he did was place bets on baseball games. He may have placed some bets on the sport he played. It means doing everything you can do to win a baseball game" (cmgww). r, played in the most games, and led the National League in batting three times. So? Does that mean he cheated his teammates and fans by throwing the game? His statistical output certainly does not show this to be true.
