             The selected research article focuses on patients' behavior motivation to exercise after undergoing cardiac rehabilitation, in order to ultimately bring themselves to their possible peak health. This research directly relates Education Psychology to my major of Health Science-Rehabilitation by means of motivation of behaviorism after undergoing serious physical trauma, rehabilitating, and increases one's health.
             The researcher's objective was to evaluate the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) in order to understand exercise motivation in participants during an after Phase 2 Cardiac Rehabilitation (CR). Cardiac Rehab is a three-phase program designed to aid in bettering the health and lifestyle of people who have experienced a heart attack, coronary artery bypass graft, stable angina, angioplasty, valve surgery, heart transplant, and other heart conditions. Phase 2 of CR is the beginning of the recovery from the trauma. Its focus is to aid the patient in taking an active role in their recovery process by means of dieting, exercise, education, and support networks (Stoughton Hospital CR Program).
             The researcher's participants were 57 men and 23 women, all of whom in Phase 2 of the program. They all completed a TPB questionnaire that included attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control (PBC), and exercise intentions during and after Phase 2 CR. The results explained that during Phase 2 CR, the analysis showed that attitude, PCB, and subjective norm explained 38% of the difference in their intent to exercise, while their intentions explained 23% of the difference of how much exercise they actually were doing. After Phase 2 CR, attitudes, subjective norm, and PCB explained 51% of the difference in the exercise they intended on doing, while they're intention to exercise explained 23% of how loyal they were to their intentions to exercise.
